Quick Answer
The Apple MacBook Neo is Apple's more affordable laptop, launched in March 2026 with a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, the A18 Pro chip, and macOS Tahoe, starting at Rs. 69,990 in India. It is aimed at buyers who want the Apple ecosystem without paying full MacBook Air or Pro pricing.
Introduction
The MacBook Neo has quickly become one of the most searched Apple laptops in India, and for good reason. It gives students, first-time Mac buyers, and light professional users a genuine entry point into the Apple ecosystem at a price that finally competes with premium Windows ultrabooks. Here is what it actually offers, and whether it fits your needs.
Why the MacBook Neo Is Trending Right Now
Since its March 2026 launch, the MacBook Neo has steadily built search momentum as buyers compare it against the Dell XPS 13, Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5x, and Acer Swift Air 14. Its starting price of Rs. 69,990 undercuts the standard MacBook Air significantly, which has made it a frequent talking point in back-to-school and work-from-home laptop buying guides across India.
Buying Guide: Is the MacBook Neo Right for You?
1. You want macOS without the full MacBook Air price
If your main reason for wanting a Mac is the software experience, iCloud integration, and build quality, the Neo delivers that at a noticeably lower entry price.
2. You do light to moderate workloads
The A18 Pro chip handles browsing, office work, streaming and light editing comfortably, but heavier video editing or professional 3D work is still better suited to the MacBook Pro line.
3. Compare against Windows alternatives first
The Dell XPS 13, Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5x and Acer Swift Air 14 all compete directly in this price bracket. If you rely on Windows-only software, it is worth comparing specs before committing to macOS.
4. Check software compatibility for your work or study needs
Some industry-specific software is still Windows-only. Confirm the tools you actually need are supported on macOS before switching.
